Sample lesson plan critique :
After carefully reading through the sample lesson plan, a few important points should be made.
Firstly, the sample lesson plan was meticulously thought out. Every step served its importat role of ensuring the students success during the activity.
The sample lesson ensured the students development in language and literacy. By introducing and comparing simiarities between words and phrases from different poems and books, the students are sure to increase in their vocabulary. The use of a Venn diagram I believe also helped them understand the purpose of this Mathematical function which will be of help to them in the future. The students are sure to develop the skill of creativity as well as critical thinking by taking choice words from the original poem to make 'found poetry'.
Use of the rubric and the found poem planning page would also aid in developing their organizational skills.
Lastly, the sample lesson also ensured group activity which helps to develop their social/interactive skills while allowing them to perform before another class or their family and friends would also boost their self confidence, making them more comfortable when performing public speaking.

Great point! Language learning is definitely a social process! Establishing routine to ensure students' social interactions will not only boost their confidence of public speaking, but also enhance their language and literacy learning. :)
